And I am over the moon with how it turned out. I love it. Those little bits of selvedge have made me very happy.
I made this block as a practice for my Bee. I would really love to ask my fellow Bee members to help me make this quilt but I am worried about the amount of work involved in just one block. So, I am pondering. Maybe suggesting that the outer spiderweb sections are solid fabrics, or only asking for half a block.
Cheerio for now.
Hope you have a lovely day

Looks lovely Liz! How long does it take? And will we need a special ruler for the triangles?
ReplyDeleteLooks fab. Waiting to see what you decide.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this! It will be gorgeous. Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteHow about asking for quarter blocks so that the bees can make as many as they can. Are these big blocks when completed like your picture?
ReplyDeleteThe whole spiderweb block in the picture is about 15 inches square.
DeleteEach quarter is about 8 inches square and made up of two triangles, so I am thinking of asking for two of those {four triangles}.
Wow this looks fabulous! Well worth every hour spent!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Great job!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe your bee members can make you blocks of selvedges and you can cut and assemble the blocks yourself? That way you get what you need and they don't have too much work?
ReplyDeleteLove it Liz! xx
ReplyDeleteLiz, I think quarter blocks are doable (we are the bumblies after all) and you could ask us (like Sue did) to make 2 or 3?
ReplyDeleteTesting to see if I have gone all no reply blogger again
ReplyDeleteBugger I was a no reply blogger.
ReplyDeleteI hate the fact that my account keeps resetting itself. I was feeling so unpopular getting no replies to my comments :0(
Hopefully I changed it back.
This looks great! I have a silly question though-- did you piece these or are they appliqued (to get the full selvedge to show). I've been saving my selvedges, and while I don't have many, I'm not sure how to piece them and have them still be readable....
ReplyDeleteIt's a very cool effect, and half of one would be reasonable I think
ReplyDeleteI adore spider web blocks. Yours is especially beautiful with the selvages. I am hoping to get one of these done someday.
